Canto CXVIII
Hommage à Ezra Pound

Important American poet Ezra Pound tried to formulate a modern European epos, tale of the tribe, in its extensive cycle of poems Cantos.
Individual Cantos originated in various environments, including jail. He composed some of them walking in Italian nature, in Rapallo, too. We can assume that the sounding of those places with the voices of the birds and the elements have imprinted in them, and that even Pound's verses, even though only silently folded, mingled and conciliated with this atmosphere in one mythical chorus. At the same time, we can think that Pound's verses only articulated in human language the mythical message that his soul, attentive to all things, events and beings, felt from the Polyphony of Everything.
The present record of our ancient garden orchestra builds on Pound's work and connects the 118th Canto to it. Let everybody listen not only with his ears, but also with his heart of what are these voices telling!

Významný americký básník Ezra Pound se pokusil svým rozsáhlým cyklem zpěvů Cantos zformulovat moderní evropský mýtus, báj kmene.
Jednotlivá canta vznikala v různých prostředích, včetně vězení. Některé z nich však skládal za chůze při svých procházkách nad italským Rapallem. Lze se domnívat, že se v ně otisklo znění těch míst s hlasy ptáků a živlů a že i v ně se Poundovy verše, třebas jen mlčky skládané, přimísily a souzněly s nimi v jeden mýtický chór. A současně si můžeme myslet, že právě Poundovy verše jen lidskou řečí artikulovaly to, co jeho duše, pozorná ke všem věcem, dějům i tvorům, z té polyfonie veškerenstva pocítila.
Nejnovější nahrávka našeho letitého zahradního orchestru navazuje na Poundovo dílo a připojuje k němu 118. zpěv. Nechť se každý zaposlouchá nejen svýma ušima, ale i srdcem, o čem se v něm vypráví!
