The new album, with which Abbé Brémond Ensemble returns after ten years, is distinctly devoted to the sonic qualities of the space in whose walls it silenced at that time. It puts into the silent microcosm of the monastic cell, from whose seemingly monotonous silence the sounds of the world are born, but not as the reflection of material facts, as the echo of external polyphony, but as a dream of it. The extensive composition, composed from variously modified and layered interior “field” recordings, illustrates this process, based on tapering, swirling, churning, in which the carefully perceived and absorbed silence slowly begins to manifest and communicate. What all does say through him – along with building and listener?

Čerstvá nahrávka, s níž se Abbé Brémond Ensemble po deseti letech vrací, se příznačně věnuje zvukových kvalitám prostoru, v jehož zdech tehdy umlkla. Uvádí do tichého mikrokosmu klášterní cely, z jejíhož zdánlivě monotónního ticha se rodí zvuky celého světa, ne však jako odraz hmotných skutečností, jako ozvěna vnější polyfonie, ale jako sen o ní. Rozsáhlá kompozice, složená z různě modifikovaných a vrstvených interiérových „terénních“ nahrávek, znázorňuje tento proces, založený zužováním, hroužením se, choulením, při němž se pozorně vnímané a vstřebávané ticho pozvolna začíná projevovat a sdělovat. Co všechno jím promlouvá – spolu se stavbou a naslouchajícím?
