The new individually published composition by Abbé Brémond Ensemble called Pénitence dans les bouleaux avec les oiseaux (The Penitence In the Birches with the Birds) evokes the experience of a deep personal balance that leads to penitence, during which everything experienced and acquired is re-evaluated and at the same time – the horizon of future days is lightened, i.e. it is confirmed that it is possible to continue. The judgment of the past, its revival in memory, accompanies a dive into oneself, corresponding to an ever deeper penetration into hard-to-pass places in the wilderness. The unknown inside man corresponds to the mystery that fills the landscape, and the excitement of stray paths resonates with the restlessness or horror of one's own face seen from a distance. Through the interplay of the most personal and the most hidden with the general and all-embracing, the composition presents the spatial nature of this transformation: the penitent hears the world anew and addresses it in a new way, with new words. Through internal transformation, even the closest reality changes and the human soul revealed itself as part of the landscape, while the voice of conscience resonates with the surrounding polyphony.

Nová samostatně vydávaná kompozice Abbé Brémond Ensemble Pénitence dans les bouleaux avec les oiseaux evokuje zkušenost hluboké osobní bilance, která přivádí k pokání, při němž se vše zažité i osvojené přehodnocuje a současně se prosvětluje horizont budoucích dní, tj. potvrzuje se, že je možné dál pokračovat. Soud nad minulostí, její oživování v paměti, doprovází ponor do sebe sama, odpovídající stále hlubšímu pronikání do obtížně prostupných míst v divočině. Neznámu uvnitř člověka odpovídá tajemství, které naplňuje krajinu a vzrušení z bludných cest souzní s neklidem či zděšením z vlastní tváře zahlédnuté s odstupem. Souhrou toho nejosobnějšího i nejskrytějšího s tím obecným a všeobjímajícím zpřítomňuje skladba prostorovou povahu této proměny: kající se slyší svět nově a sám jej také nově, novými slovy oslovuje. Vnitřní proměnou se tak mění i ta nejbližší skutečnost a lidská duše se odhaluje jako součást krajiny, zatímco hlas svědomí souzní s okolní polyfonií.

Abbé Brémond Ensemble
Avant-garde chamber orchestra dedicated to Henri Bremond’s idea of pure poetry and founded by Ká in 2003 in Prague as the collective creative space forming context for various musical, art and literary works. Main programme was formulated as "poésie pure – free improvisation – site specific – ambient – noisilence – land(e)scapes". Between the years 2003 and 2007 ABE published (mostly in private editions) ten records (with Ká's solo electro-acoustic compositions, vocal and orchestral works, free improvisations etc.) and performed a few site specific actions and private concerts. Most of these projects were inspired by individual literary works (Sylvia Plath, Tove Jansson, Andrej Stankovič, Paul Laforgue, Čingiz Ajtmatov, Josef Váchal). In 2007 the ensemble abandoned its pursuit and came back in 2014. With new inspiration of ideas of Elias Canetti and his esthetics of metamorphosis and his cult of atmosphere the ensemble found new aims and turned more to Life and Love and Nature. All the previous work of ABE was republished on Recordings On the Road and new records are releasing on it too.
