The new album by our beloved wood orchestra presents a few unique figures of its sounding. Its music never consists only of voices of birds: rain drops, wind, storms, human steps or noise of trains and airplanes. mingle with them and birds in great improvisation react on them too. These long compositions let these apparently voiceless sounds limber up its simple beauty.
We dedicate the album to Elias Canetti, an exceptionally attentive listener, who in his texts, particularly in The Voices of Marrakesh, eloquently demonstrated the ability to perceive the acoustic uniqueness of the most diverse places. Each environment is characterized by an unmistakable sounding, born of the voices of the creatures, the atmospheric qualities and the events that accompany and fill the life here. This music is both the most subtile and the most faithful face of the places, it is the fleeting and humble figure: it does not intrude on the visitor or the inhabitant, but on the contrary it opens to their own voices, allowing them to transform its wholeness. The gravity of this sounding for understanding the places lies in their addressing: they knowingly address and wait for a voice that responds to them and if they meet, the nebula of homogeneous sounding changes its colour or smell or it softly or roughly adheres. The perceptive listener then becomes surprised to find that the insubstantiality of this sounding is only apparent and that it conceals other sensual qualities - optical, olfactory, tactile - and finds that the music itself builds a new reality in a known world - or rather: it revives its original face.

Nové album našeho milovaného lesního orchestru představuje několik výjimečných podob jeho znění. Jeho hudba se neskládá jen z hlasů ptáků: v ohromné improvizaci se s nimi mísí dešťové kapky, vítr, hromy, lidské kroky či hluk letadel a vlaků – a ptáci na ty další hlasy reagují. Tyto dlouhé kompozice nechávají zdánlivě neslovné zvuky vyniknout v jejich prosté kráse.
Album připisujeme Eliasovi Canettimu, mimořádně pozornému posluchači, jenž ve svých textech, zvláště v Hlasech Marrákeše výmluvně projevil schopnost postřehnout akustickou jedinečnost nejrozmanitějších míst. Každé prostředí se vyznačuje nezaměnitelným zněním, rodícím se z hlasů tvorů, z atmosférických kvalit i z dění, které doprovází a naplňuje zdejší život. Tato hudba je nejjemnější a současně nejvěrnější tváří míst, je podobou prchavou a pokornou: nevtírá se návštěvníku či obyvateli, ba naopak se otevírá jeho vlastnímu hlasu, jímž se nechá dotvářet. Závažnost tohoto znění pro porozumění místům tkví právě v jejich adresnosti: vědoucně oslovují a čekají na hlas, jenž jim odpoví a setkají-li se, mlhovina homogenního znění se nově zbarví, jinak zavoní a měkce či drsně přilne. Vnímavý posluchač tehdy s překvapením poznává, že nehmotnost tohoto znění je jen zdánlivá, že v sobě skrývá další smyslové kvality – optické, čichové, taktilní – a zjišťuje, že sama hudba buduje ve známém světě skutečnost novou – anebo spíše: křísí její prapůvodní tvář.
