Abbé Brémond Ensemble's new album presents an electro-acoustic composition inspired by the first verses of the First Book of Moses (Genesis), which describes the beginning of the creation of the world. The words in the title mean "desolate and empty" (Gen 1:2) and refer to an unimaginable environment without time and without light. Although it cannot be fully recognized by our senses, or our experience, all later created nature - including man - is implicitly present in it. (And perhaps even in that multifaceted future one can sense something of the primordial, when everything was one.) The idea of this hiddenness raises doubts about the generally used dichotomy "living - non-living" (“organic – inorganic”), which nature is usually classified into, and the present composition tries to articulate this vision sonically. A special time that measures nothing is reflected by a polyrhythmic structure that binds together an indefinite sounding, which in partial moments foreshadows the arrival of heavenly natural polyphony - evoked voices of birds, etc. Incomprehensibility determined by the darkness that covers everything, as well as by the apparent vagueness of the shapes from which soon the sky, the land, the mountains and the waters emerge, can cause anxiety, but as it turns out, from this special darkness everything, that God says is good, will be born, and so even when listening, one can perceive that in the most remote, earliest, there is nothing to fear and that becoming creation is joyful and accepting – and one can participate in it.
The album, which is close to the older study of the breath of the monastery cell Clausura (recordingsontheroad.bandcamp.com/album/clausura) and to the younger composition Pénitence dans les bouleaux avec les oiseaux (recordingsontheroad.bandcamp.com/album/p-nitence-dans-les-bouleaux-avec-les-oiseaux), is related to the group's growing interest in spiritual matters, especially those related to the experience of creation. It can be expected that the present album will be followed by other similarly targeted contemplative works in the future.

Nové album Abbé Brémond Ensemble přináší elektroakustickou kompozici tóhú wábóhú inspirovanou prvními verši První knihy Mojžíšovy (Genesis), které líčí počátek stvoření světa. Slova v názvu znamenají „pustá a prázdná“ (Gen 1,2) a uvádějí do nepředstavitelného prostředí bez času a bez světla. Přestože je nelze plně poznat našimi smysly, resp. naší zkušeností, je v něm implicitně přítomna celá později stvořená příroda – včetně člověka. (A snad i v onom mnohotvárném budoucím lze tušit něco z toho prvotního, kdy vše bylo jedno.) Myšlenka této skrytosti vyvolává pochyby nad obecně užívanou dichotomií „živý – neživý“, kterou se příroda obvykle třídí, a přítomná skladba se tuto vizi snaží artikulovat sonicky. Zvláštní čas, který nic neměří, odráží polyrytmická struktura, která k sobě váže neurčité znění, jež v dílčích okamžicích předznamenává příchod rajské přírodní polyfonie – evokované hlasy ptáků apod. Nesrozumitelnost určená temnotou, která vše halí, i patrnou nejasností tvarů, z nichž zanedlouho vznikne obloha, souš, horstva a vodstva, může vzbuzovat úzkost, jak se však ukáže, z této zvláštní tmy se zrodí vše, o čem Bůh řekne, že je to dobré, a tak lze i při poslechu vnímat, že v tom nejvzdálenějším, nejranějším, není nic, co by se bylo nutno obávat a že samo vznikání je radostné a přijímající – a lze mít na něm podíl.
Album, které má blízko k starší studii dechu klášterní cely Clausura i k mladší kompozici Pénitence dans les bouleaux avec les oiseaux, souvisí se vzrůstajícím zájmem souboru o látky duchovní, zvláště ty související s prožíváním stvoření. Lze očekávat, že na přítomné album, v budoucnosti navážou další podobně zacílené kontemplativní práce.
